Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, having relationship challenges, or just don’t feel like yourself—I can help.
I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Deema Kanbaragha
Although change is difficult, uncomfortable, and scary, it is sometimes necessary for personal growth.
I wholeheartedly believe in our capacity to change our unhealthy thought patterns in order to live the life we desire. Seeking therapy is a self-honoring choice, and I’m happy to be alongside you in this challenging, yet fulfilling journey.
Meet Your Therapist: Deema Kanbaragha
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Earlham College and an M.A. in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University. I have experience providing therapy to adults, couples, military personnel, families, and teens, addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, ADHD, personality disorders, grief, anger, separation, divorce, deployments, and relationship challenges.
I customize therapy to meet your unique needs using a holistic approach that blends modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, DBT, and EMDR. I’m also trained in EFT and Gottman Couples Therapy—the only evidence-based approach available for couples.
How I got here…
Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to live in different places around the world and have surrounded myself with individuals of various cultures and religions.
My life experience combined with my professional training has provided me with a multicultural perspective that enables me to honor and be culturally sensitive to my clients’ needs and unique backgrounds. I believe one of the most important tools for healing is the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a safe and accepting space that allows my client to feel fully supported. I approach my clients with empathy, use active listening, compassion, humor, and, when necessary, gentle confrontation. I encourage my clients to make empowering choices that build their internal sense of freedom, strengthen their self-trust, and bring them deeper clarity.
In my personal life, I stay grounded by nurturing the mind-body connection through movement, mindfulness, and spirituality. I feel most alive when I’m in nature—surfing, cycling, hiking, and camping. Being outdoors helps me stay present, recharged, and connected.
I believe healing happens through connection. I make time for meaningful relationships—with friends, family, and community—and I thrive on meeting new people and exploring new experiences. These connections are an essential part of my mental and emotional balance.
Creativity is another way I support my mental health. Whether I’m experimenting with a new recipe, planting something, or refreshing a space at home, creative expression helps me unwind, reflect, and stay grounded.
